Today is Mundane-Day

I will go about the business of eating mindfully
and putting my body through it’s paces,
even if my heart isn’t in it one hundred percent.

To be honest, my heart is seldom in it one hundred
percent, but I will recognize that sometimes the
matter-of-fact days are the ones
that make all the difference.

This is not a race, after all… it is a march.

And as long as I continue along the path in
the right direction, I will eventually
get where I’m going.

  1. Yep that's my motto. Just keep doing it. Everyday.

  2. YES! Keep moving forward whether big or smaller steps & don't give up! Sometimes we say to ourselves I don't want to do this but the key is to get past that & say I will do it because I will be healthier for it.. :-)

  10. Nice to see someone else admitting their heart isn't totally in it every day - I think that's probably true for most of us! But like you said, the point is still going through the correct motions even if you're not pumped up about it on a particular day!

  11. I totally agree. You just keep putting one foot in front of the other and eventually you will get here.

  12. I agree, Jack. Energy is sometimes high and, when I feel that, I strike while the iron is hot - making sure to do some writing. Other times, energy is low and when I feel that I maintain. Most of the time my energy is somewhere in the middle.

Also, when energy is low what works best for me is making no judgements (as best as I can)about anything, because I'll tend to tell myself stories about things (like my eating or my weight) being "bad" or "wrong". I find it's best to, basically, turn off my brain when I'm more vulnerable to telling (and believing) bad-feeling stories. Especially ones about my body.
