- Good intentions aren't as good as a good workout.
-
Plan to do well and you might actually do well.
- If you're not pushing yourself, you're standing still.
- You could really use a good night’s sleep.
- Look before you leap… but then leap!
- We all fall off the wagon… it’s the interval between falls that makes all the difference.
-
A little bit of junk food almost invariably leads to a lot of junk food.
- You don't necessarily have to wait til Monday to shift this thing back
in high gear.
-
Six months can change your life.
- Everything you want out of this life is still within your grasp.
- Standing on the sidelines sucks.
- You’re a lot stronger than you give yourself credit.
- It’s easier to keep the ball rolling than to start the ball rolling.
- This thing can be simple… if you make it simple.
- Eating more slowly is the first step towards eating more mindfully.
- This isn’t forever; it’s just for the rest of your life.
- You control virtually every aspect of this journey
.
- You're worth the effort!

Six months really can change your life - I think that's the take away from this list. In six months your life can be different, never to return to this again. Just six months.
ReplyDeleteI needed to read something like this - thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI just came back to reality after a 3 month (a.k.a. 20lbs) hiatus.... And you're right - All I'm doing right now is looking at the next six months of my life - in the big picture - that's nothing, right?
This is just what I needed today! Thanks for the encouragement :)
ReplyDeleteI love "you control virtually every aspect of this journey". So true!!
ReplyDelete"Six months to change your life" really grabbed me as well, Roxie. That's not a heck of a lot of time in the grand scheme of things. I can do this!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great post. I think a lot of people forget the "You’re a lot stronger than you give yourself credit" one.
ReplyDeleteGreat list. I too was taken by the six months line. Six months really can change your life. I'm on month eight now and, wow, eight months are even better!

This post is going on my fridge. It is much needed. I am coming off of a 3 week vacation where I only gained 1 lb but I can feel the lost momentum. This is a great refocuser.

ReplyDeleteVery good post! I always say being overweight is sentenced for life because once we reach goal weight the real battle begins: maintaining.

One day can change your life....
ReplyDelete6 months is full of single days making good choices....
Thanks Jack. This is so helpful that I've printed it out. I'm struggling lately (well, more than lately) and maybe if I make some of these a mantra, I'll get back on track...
