I'm assuming it had something to do with the fact that I had found myself on the losing side of the Battle of the Bulge.
Anyway, I somehow stumbled into this kooky blogging community and decided to set up shop.
Those were the salad days, my friend, both because the act of writing about my weight loss journey seemed to enthuse and energize me and because... well... I was eating a lot of salad.
I lost a hellacious amount of weight, maintained that loss for a while and then… well, let us just say “mistakes were made”.
Blogging is a fat-free, low-cal pleasure for me, but I have to say that it’s been falling a little flat in the accountability department of late.
So I decided that no matter what manner of nonsense I slap up on this page, I need to end each post with a look-see on where I am on this quest to weigh less. I’m calling it The Daily Scaley. Let’s see how low I can make this thang go!
THE DAILY SCALEY
It's on like Donkey Kong!
Jack,
ReplyDeleteFun aside (which must be tough with a mind that is as comedically gifted as yours, what are you consuming today that you were not having in your weight loss days? There may be an answer there.
WELCOME BACK, JACK! It sounds like you're ready to get back on the horse again. I'll be checking back daily to see your progress. :-) Remember that expression "If nothing changes..... nothing changes". YOU GOT THIS!!
ReplyDeleteWow 3 years!!! That's great. Thank you for sharing your journey. I look forward to the daily scaley. You can do this.
ReplyDeleteWhat next...are you going to open your comments. Oh, you already did.
ReplyDeleteWhat next? I'm gonna start replying to comments. Seriously, I did not know that I could reply to comments. Are you kidding me? This is gonna change my life!
DeleteI've come to realize that putting "the number" out there often for everyone to see is a must for me. I know I lie to myself easy but not to others. You'll get to where you want to be just keep focused.
ReplyDeleteI think that if I faced the scale daily, bad things would happen. Weekly visits are bad enough.
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, I love your blog and you've helped me through a rough patch or two :)
Welcome back Jack!
ReplyDeleteAs a wise man once told me on my one year anniversary of my journey, "Most people don't even have a one year anniversary." So chew on that for a bit. You have given an effort for three years, most people don't get off the couch for more than just the first half of January.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on three years of whatever it is you've been doing here in the weight loss internets. The Daily Scaley -- love it. My daily scaley is: 133.6.

Third!!
You're. A. Big. Kid. Now.
oh jack I am soooo with you! lol. I am reassessing too. Maybe us old hacks can get back after it huh? Let's go.
ReplyDeletegood for you Jack! ACCOUNTABILITY is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI know it sucks, but the fact that you have struggled and yet still stuck with it is a HUGE, and by huge I mean GINORMOUS,motivator for me. You are a real person. And being honest about your struggles makes you so much more relatable than bloggers who only blog when they are successful.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are still here, because you are part of what inspired me to start back up again a few months ago. Keep it up, Jack... YOU GOT THIS!!!
I love it! Maybe I need a daily scaley update too! I have also been struggling lately! Here's to a great rest of the year!
