Signs You're Addicted to Weight Loss Blogging

Welcome back to "Same Old Sh*t" Saturday, the place where retreads rule! This one strikes a chord for me because I really am addicted to this weight-loss blogging business. I spend way too much time fooling around with it, even though I do get an awful lot out of it as well. How about you? How many of these sound like you?
  • Spouse knows easiest way to get hold of you is to leave a comment.
  • No one can eat until you’ve got the whole meal on the table and you’ve taken pictures of all the dishes.
  • You pay your internet bill before your rent or mortgage.
  • You forgot your child’s birthday, but you remembered to update your weight loss ticker.
  • Your vacation plans center around hotels that have high-speed wi-fi.
  • You can do a “word verification” in point three seconds.
  • You know what at least six people you don't know had for breakfast.
  • You’d rather lose a filling than lose a follower.
  • Anytime you see a photograph, you ask “Is this the before or after pic?”
  • You ask your doctor if he can give you something for “blogger’s block”?
  • You take a spectacular dump and think “I’ve got the subject for my next post…”
  • You get slightly aroused fiddling around with your blog layout.
  • You’ve started LOLing instead of laughing.
  • On Saturdays, you feel a little dead inside.
  • You hit “refresh” to see if anyone has left you a comment while you were reading the last comment someone left you.
  • You've already blogged about this post.

  4. I'm going to be in blog withdrawl over Thanksgiving when we go up to Estes Park. I don't think there's internet where we're going. I don't know if I can talk my husband into taking the laptop. I guess I'll just have to focus on being thankful. Novel idea.

  11. Yes! I can't tell you how many cold meals I eat because of all the picture taking! I love it, though :) It's definitely an addiction!

And I loathe word verification. I don't think it does much of anything and it's so annoying (although some of the words are hilarious- I actually got "fart" one time)! I adjusted my setting to turn it off my blog!

  15. Crap, this is so friggin funny & true!!!!!!! I best take a look in the mirror & re-evaluate! Well, I have been doing that lately anyway. Should I do less posts, should I stop for a while.... my house is so dirty cause I blog rather then clean! Yes, I know that most people would want to do that anyway but at some point, the house screams back at you in a very bad way!!! :-O

  21. It took me all day to get to your post - I was too busy updating my ticker and taking pictures of my latest new bras for my blog. And, of course, thinking up great posts in the bathroom.

By the way, if you want to know what I had for breakfast, I already blogged about that.

I used to be seriously addicted to the blogging thing. But now FaceBook has taken over and i think that's worse coz that's not productive at all!!

  25. Ha ha! I really do pick my hotels based on whether they have wi-fi or not! LOL (and yes, I've started LOLing instead of laughing. I did it to my mother in a text message, and she was like, "WTH?"

  26. How about: Your required Quarterly Report at work includes photographs, a comment section, labels and ends with "Woot!"

  28. Hilarious.

And no, I haven't blogged about it yet--I'm gonna Tweet it instead.

Now Twitter presents a whole new level of time-sucking insanity... be very afraid.

  29. So many can identify with this one! Love the
    t-shirt!
I know a year ago my computer wasn't the first thing I was grabbing in the morning.... Now it's the last thing I see at night and the first thing I grab in the morning! Amazing what can change in a year. Makes you wonder what next November brings! Maybe I won't need a man at all!

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
