Ways Losing Weight Is Like Baseball

I hate baseball, but I was watching TV last night and there was a game on. The remote control had apparently fallen down under the chair, and I was already over on my activity points. Thus, this post. Luckily, it's Saturday and nobody's reading...
  • It can be very, very boring.
  • In the blink of an eye, something exciting can happen.
  • Every once in awhile, you get thrown a curve.
  • You have to concentrate when you step up to the plate.
  • It’s hard to do as well when you’re on the road.
  • There’s a lot of people rooting for you.
  • Some people are rooting against you.
  • Sometimes you need to go with the change-up.
  • The game isn’t over after one strikeout.
  • Every day is a new opportunity.
  • Helps when you’ve got a lot of supportive teammates.
  • Sometimes you have to sacrifice for the greater good.
  • Occasionally, you’re gonna run into a screwball.
  • In order to be successful, you’ve got to keep your eye on the ball.
Remember, it’s not always whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.

  2. I think what you left out of this analogy is that it's "MIND NUMBINGLY" boring.

  5. Does losing weight like to grab his balls alot? Because I notice that those dudes like to do that often.

    It's annoying.

  6. Candice, I don't think that's a baseball thing; I think that's a guy thing.

  8. But Jack, it's our national pasttime!! I don't obsessively follow baseball, but I enjoy going to a ballpark and watching a game, especially if it's a major league game. Brilliant post as always.

    My best

  16. Sean, you think BASEBALL is our national pastime, or DIETING? I think more people are on diets than there are baseball fans. Jack, another homerun for you!

  17. You forgot one: Neither the baseball player nor the person losing weight look good in baseball pants.

  19. Oh boy do I agree with the boring thing.
My dh is a huge, huge, huge Cardinals fan so we're a baseball household right now. Add the All Star Game in town & OMG it is baseball crazy around here. Couldn't even go to the farmer's market downtown yesterday because of stupid security & crowds. :P

Ooops, got OT. Anyway - love the list!
