Jack Sh*t Home Tour

Somebody made a suggestion that I do a post about my humble abode.
It's a 100+ year old house that sometimes goes for weeks without something breaking down. Come inside and let me show you around...

We converted one of the downstairs bedrooms into The Spicy Crib,
a media center/blog creation area.

Why The Spicy Crib? Because it's so damn spicy!

That's not a real beer, btw. Pisa gave me a candle that looks like a mug o' beer.

TV where I do much of the "research" for JSGF.

A healthy reminder that Anita made for our fridge.

You gotta admit, that's a pretty bitchin' refrigerator.

My other "thinking spot"... the hot tub house Anita had built for me for my 40th birthday.

Can you believe that my parents had this fantastic photograph
of me languishing in their attic? Shame!

It's pretty amazing how much light-up art I own...

My daughter Holly blogs, too; she just does it on her bedroom walls.

I probably should read it sometime.

There's Holly now... no wait... that's just a mannequin in her room.

Pisa collects weird things from around the world.

Tell me you've got something this freaking awesome in your house.

I just don't know...

Greatest. Shower. Ever.

You can't get one of these at Home Depot...

Who lives in this fancy pad out back?

Nobody here but us chickens.

We used to have a lot of trouble with hippies.

It's kind of a gag, y'know.

Does this tour answer a lot of questions or raise a lot of questions?

  7. I think it raises more questions than answeres them... but I am in awe... and starting to wonder how boring my house makes me look.

  10. Now in addition to your extreme blogging career, you can hang out a shingle "Jack's Sh*tty Decorating on a Dime" and bring in some big bucks! That candle made me eerily thirsty.

  25. Absolutely, stunningly creative and gorgeous. You are a very, very lucky person to llive in a place like that. Loos like years of hard work and personalization. Just beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Those hippies that you had a problem with?? Did they decorate your house?? LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Love the character of your house. Our house is 50 years old so not quite as crazy (sometimes we go MONTHS without something breaking) but it's got some of the same quirks and oddities. I used to "blog on my walls" as a kid too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Please tell me you're looking to adopt a 40 year old logger named Tara. I think I know the perfect girl!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I can see why the hippies were a problem. I bet they wanted you to adopt them. So they could live there. Forever. And write groovy stuff on your walls. :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Lol I said logger...

    I meant blogger!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Um. Yeah. That would explain it. Your house is as much of a character as you are! I didn't see any velvet Elvis paintings...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hey, can I come and crash at your place for a little while? xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm terribly disappointed that it isn't REAL beer and only a candle.

    ReplyDelete
  41. that is a freakin HUGE baby picture. Holy Cow!

    Very eclectic. Light up. wow.

My art history BA just shrieked in the closet over there.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Fascinating in deed. My favorite part of your home? The tile work in the shower. Love it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Words can not express the depths of my jealousy over your home. It's the home I have always dreamed of. And if I'm out of debt by the time I'm 80 (not really kidding there), I now have my inspiration to make my own.

    ReplyDelete
  44. omg As if I didn't already love you enough, now I find out you own chickens. I <3 chickens!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Both. Great tour, thanks Jack.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Pretty crazy-AWESOME! The thing I would most like from your house (other than that epic fridge) is that "Bad Habits" poster.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I love you even more JS! I so see a lot of my Dad in you.. he was a crazy guy but it was not always let out in the same way you let your craziness out... THX!

I wish I had one l/10 of your creativity!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  53. It raises so many more questions..

  54. You're house is so wicked-cool. Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I love your daughter's blog wall. What a great way for her to express herself.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Wow!!! You're already in with me because of the chickens & your raw humor, but I LOVE the shower mosiac! We live in an 1844 Cape in NH, work in progress, of course. But my husband would drop dead before he's let me have a shower like that. You're so lucky!!!! Gorgeous. And yeh, that fridge makes a great statement :-)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Nice! Your home is as eclectic as you are!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Wow, Jack you are a man of many things. What were the hippies doing?

    ReplyDelete
  59. If you move the chickens over to the hot tub house, do you get hard boiled eggs?
