Welcoming My Weigh-in

Weekly weigh-in: 208.7
Loss: -1.2
Total loss: -83.3
Emotion: Re-energized

Sometimes, I hate stepping on the scale.

There’s that moment when your thoughts race back to all those times during the week when you snacked a little more than you intended, chewed on a little more of what you shouldn’t have than you should have.

There’s that tiny instant when you think back on those workouts where you couldn't quite muster your best effort, those times when you didn’t quite give it your all.

As for me, I think back on those days in the past when I worked out with relish and ate with a single-minded focus, and hopped upon that scale without a second of trepidation.

I often think back on those days when I was really getting after it and pushing myself to accomplish great things. I look at the story that free-fall of numbers tells and I think "Dayum"...

I had a flashback to those heady days this week, as I ate with precision and purpose. At the gym, the sweat flowed like champagne.

And I worked… and worked… and worked…

And a funny thing happened.

When I went to stand on that scale, I wasn’t the least bit scared, the least bit intimidated.

I had a smile on my face.

Great job! Love when the scale concurs with all the hard work during the week!

  2. It is true, the scale is much less intimidating when we know we've been working hard. Sounds like you had a great week.

  4. I love when I know I've worked hard all week and know that the scale is going to show a loss. I haven't felt or seen that in a long while, but I know I will this week.

    Great loss, greater post!

  5. Great job Jack! :)

I was stunned last week when I stepped on the scale- but I'm having a GREAT week again this week and hopefully that scale will spit out a decent # for me...or else I'm gonna through it out the window of that weight watchers facility! That will teach it! :)

  7. I know what you mean about being afraid to step on the scale some days. Today is one of those days for me as I've been up all week long.

  8. You are so right! When you are truly 'doing it' there is nothing to fear. And even if the scale doesn't move you can have the confidence that soon, IT WILL. It has to!

  10. That's awesome! It's so true when we put hard work into our healthy journey we don't fear the scale we just want to dominate it :)
Having a smile after being on the scale is priceless!

  11. I had a slip up yesterday. . . the first "major" slip-up in eating for the first time in 7 months. I was pissed, I whined and cried and then I read this.

Thank you for reminding me to focus on the days when I didn't "f-up."

Time to get back on track, remember all that I CAN/WILL do, and put that smile back on my face!

    Great weigh-in Jack! Congrats!

  15. I check in on my weight & plans each week. I review how the week went in general, and regarding my goals. I also weigh in. Altogether it gives me a good assessment, but my experience is that I can do well on eating, exercise, planning and motivation and sometimes the scale still doesnt behave.

Glad you have yours trained better!
