Great list! We started school last week - maybe I will start losing weight again now since "carefree days are over".
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that it is a comfort to know that others are going through the same thing. Sometimes weightloss efforts can feel like they isolate you in almost every way. It helps to know that I'm not alone.
ReplyDeleteI always loved it when my son went back to school...does that make me a bad mommy? Can I send him now, even though he graduated? Better yet, can I go to school instead of work?
ReplyDeleteGreat list :D
Great post...Polish huh? I had you pegged as Irish...Jack O'Sh*t?
ReplyDeleteGood post. All of those things are so true.
ReplyDeleteCute and accurate on every one of those items--specially the one where you'll do better if you plan. Something Ive been slacking on as of late!
ReplyDeleteJack O'Shit? I like it!...or maybe you're italian--Jack Oglvie Shitarelli? (Have to account for that O!)
Let's not forget great new teachers i.e. other weight loss bloggers.
ReplyDeleteBack to School time is my 2nd favorite holiday, but you gave me a couple more reasons to love it.
ReplyDeleteBoth hilarious and apt. Stopping by your blog always adds a bright spark to my day.
ReplyDeleteI'll add "It gets tougher as you get older."
How about, "Don't pee your pants on the first day?" OK, that's why I don't make lists like you do.
ReplyDeleteHow about "Nothing makes sense to you until someone relates the content to real life."
ReplyDeleteYou never think you really HAVE to lose weight until your health takes a turn for the worse.
So true, so true. This is why I'm dragging my feet getting our homeschool year mapped out--I don't want to give up those carefree days! Plus, I want the health stuff to continue to stay on the front burner in my mind, and that's impossible when homeschooling, because that has to stay on the front burner. Good thing there are usually two front burners.
ReplyDeleteSo true! I especially liked "Hate that you have to get up to the same old thing every day". The first few weeks the novelty kicks in, but then, oy vey!
ReplyDeletethis is great, i never thought of any of it in that way. I miss back to school, its been years for me and I don't have little ones yet. But its all worth it in the end for sure, the healthier you are the better for you and everyone around you!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I always feel a bit nostalgic when it's back to school time. Ooh, ooh, can I go this time?? Please???
ReplyDeleteDefinitely kind of exciting and scary at the same time. Yikes!
that's so true- about it working out better if there is a plan.
ReplyDeleteMind you Jack- was it John Lennon who said: life is what happens to you when you are making plans. That is my experience but I make them all the same....
I miss going back to college ... every fall. I looked so forward to going back. Looking back, those were carefree days.
ReplyDeleteCan I say.... "AMEN!"
ReplyDeletedo you have a photo of yourself on your blog?
ReplyDeleteIt's on the back, Lisa.
ReplyDeleteAlways right on target! I love endless possibilities & have a plan!!! Oh yeah!
ReplyDeletehey jack..
ReplyDeleteas usual, you made me smile..thanks!
xo
No wonder kids don't want to go back to school...lol!!
ReplyDeleteMan I just had so many flashbacks.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I have to add - "Even if they aren't, you still think the other people are making fun of you!"
I still think that the people working out around me are thinking of how pudgy I am!
Kinda like girls cant let their girlfriends go to the bathroom without them because you're afraid they'll talk about you while they are in there!
You left off having to start going to bed at a regular time. :)
ReplyDeleteI give this a B+, but watch your language, young man!
ReplyDeleteI am thinking maybe Scottish, Jock McSh*t?
Love this list!! Never noticed there were so many similarities ;) I like the friends part. hehe
ReplyDelete"It's on the back"...you are so bad. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat list! You are so right....
