I've found that there are really
only a few ways to lose weight, but apparently there are a million
reasons for why we want to, strive to, have to. I ask the folks that
stop by this space from time to time to share their reasons for dropping
the weight and/or moving towards a more healthy lifestyle. The answers
never cease to amaze me.
People constantly ask me what the rules for submitting one of these is
or if the deadline has passed. Don't you know me yet? There are no
rules! There is no deadline! Communicate your message any damn way and

Hello Jack, sorry for my bad English,but I write from Italy.
There are no interesting blogs about large weight losses in Italian (my
language)...maybe because in Italy obesity is considered a secondary
problem although it is becoming increasingly common and maybe because we
are always arrears of 20 yers versus U.S.A about technology and
blogging for us is still a novelty;also it's not common to see people of
300-400 pounds...
My weight now is 134 kg (296 pounds) and i have a lot of weight to
lose, so i have to read blog in english to encourage my self and i found
your blog.
I send you a WIDTH pictures hoping that the
english line is grammatically correct and i've write the same line in
Italian.. maybe other italians read the blog.

enjoy the road of life
I can’t tell you exactly how or why, but some bit of faulty wiring up in my headbone sends a slew of messed-up directions to my GPS (“Good Positive Selections”) system and I swerve off course.
Sometimes just a little.
Sometimes a lot.
I lose my will and I lose my way.
And then you bring me back.
I’m serious, YOU bring me back.
Every time.
I think about what would happen if I abandoned this space. Some people would shrug it off without a second thought. Some would wonder to themselves “Whatever happened to that funny Jack Sh*t guy?”
But I know there are others that wouldn’t let me off the hook so easily. Wouldn’t let me take my show on the road without at least making an attempt to drag me back kicking and screaming.
I like to think that what I’m doing here has helped… at least a little bit… others who’re trying to find their own way along their own path.
But I know for a fact that what I’m doing here is keeping me going each and every day.
So here I am.
Some days acting a fool, some days just running my mouth, but always with at least a good idea of where the right path is located.
So whether I’m charging forward, losing a little ground or (most likely) spinning in circles, it’s nice to know that somebody’s got my back.
• It’s an ideal opportunity to teach children about different spices and which ones (marjoram, cilantro) are poisonous.
• Don’t worry about making a mess in the kitchen; that’s why you hired a maid, silly.
• Praise them for the effort, even if the final result isn’t perfect: “You did a great job kneading that bread, but next time try not to pick your nose so much while you’re doing it.”
• Learning to cook is also about developing life skills, so take your children to the grocery store to help shoplift the ingredients you’ll need.
• It’s fun to teach kids things they don’t know about cooking, such as “Baking powder and baking soda are the same exact thing.”
• A child’s laughter is one of God’s greatest gifts, so show ‘em that trick where you break an egg with one hand.
• It's like the old saying goes, "Give a child a fish stick and he eats for a day, teach him to fish stick and he eats for a lifetime."
• Following a recipe can teach a child important math skills, such as “guesstimation.”
• It’s a chance to learn about the world’s cultures, foreign languages and geography; for example, if you make a box of Kraft® macaroni-and-cheese, you can talk about how it’s from the “United States” which is located in “America.”
• Finally get to crack line: “Hey, I made you… it’s high time you made something for me!”
It seems incredible, that I consider a laptop to be my most valuable weapon in my healthy living arsenal.
No, I can’t run on it, but I can be inspired by people like Sam, Suzi and Sheryl, who encourage me to push myself a little farther down the road.
No, there aren’t any exercises I can do with it (well, I’m sure MizFit has a vlog somewhere showing the proper form for laptop curls), but it’s the place I go for motivation and encouragement.
I don’t use my laptop for a plate (well… not all the time at least), but it helps me stay focused on what I’m doing and where I’m going. It helps me find new healthy recipes and arms me with nutritional information.
It keeps me connected to people who share my ambitions and struggles, who (for some strange reason) seem to care about my troubles and my triumphs.
I may spend a little too much of my time behind the wheel of my blog, but I know that it’s helped me stay on the road to where I want to go.
Yeah, this post is dedicated to all the people that told me I'd never lose the weight, to all the people that thought my blog was silly or stupid (especially my daughter Pisa), And all the bloggaz in the struggle, you know what I'm sayin’?

There I was in the spotlight with my pants tight.
Feelin’ so low, like a couple levels ‘neath the cellar floor.
Body abuser, the opposite of a loser.
Back then I didn’t much think about my future.

to tell, I never envisioned the kind of response I've gotten when I
asked for folks to send me their reasons (via note card or reasonable
facsimile) for losing weight and/or getting more healthy. They came
pouring in, and there's been a steady stream of them ever since. I don't
know about you, but I find them wonderfully inspirational, so much raw
emotion boiled down to a tiny little card. Thanks for everyone who has
contributed so far and everyone who's going to send me one in the very
