Going Strong (Just Not For Long)

Weekly weigh-in: 210.0
Loss: -.4
Total loss: -82.0
Emotion: All over the place

I have a theory about this weight-loss business: if you string good days together, over and over and over, you’ll enjoy good weigh-ins.

Get through one good day.

Pat yourself on the back.

Get up and do it again.

I wish it was as easy as I make it sound. I seem to be on a solid path, about to pull off four or five solid days, full of sweaty workouts and solid food choices, but then I suffer a brain fart somewhere along the way. Oh, it’s never anything super-crazy like during the bad ol’ days, but just enough to throw off my momentum.

It’s a new week, so I’ll take one more crack at rediscovering my missing mojo.

Get through one good day.

Pat myself on the back.

Get up and do it again.

It’s September, and most folks in the waking world are slowly gearing up for the holidays, where they’ll pack on a few extra pounds (and maybe a few more on top of that).

Then comes New Year’s Day, when they’ll get serious about losing weight again.

Me? I’m skipping ahead to 2011 right now.

Get through one good day.

Pat myself on the back.

Get up and do it again.

Sounds like a plan.

  6. Yes, it's good to string together good days and it stinks when you don't. Still, all in all, you seem to have a handle on things. I wish you a long, successful string.

  7. Time-honored software engineering technique: If you find something that works, nick it and run.

Hope you don't mind too terribly, but I'm nicking and running!

  8. I have a similar theory, but mine is worded "As long as you keep getting up, just one more time than you fall down......"

    Same, same......but different. :)

  9. Bring on 2011.

I get annoyed with the whole "bring on the pounds because it's the holiday therory". Even when I was heavier. It doesn't have to be that way. You don't have to go hog wild. You can enjoy, indulge a little then modify elsewere (more exercise, lighter meals, etc).

  12. Great attitude Jack! Me, I think about what is coming in these next few months & makes me want to keep my weight off & stay fit more because it prepares me for what is coming & then when it does, I don't want to ruin all my hard work & I usually either stay constant & sometimes lose weight during the holidays... I know, weird but it works for me!

  14. I think it's not as easy as it sounds because it's the same freaking thing every day. Your body craves something different so that's why it's like, "Come on, I just want to eat something delicious!"

And also, screw the holidays. I'm not gonna let them mess with my thighs. I'll take the presents and pass on the cookies, thanks. I'm glad you're gonna do the same. :)

  16. and a good one. eventually patterns of eating and exercise take over. If there is a way you like to eat....(besides stuffing everything in lol) that will take over. That is why I have been working so hard on getting a set pattern of calories and eating down. Things I 'like' to eat daily etc.
You can and will do this.
